Description
Eleanor Stabler Brooks was a member of the Radcliffe College Class of 1914. These letters from her parents, Edward Lincoln Stabler and Elizabeth Tubby Stabler, and others discuss news of family and friends from home, the death of her grandmother, and Eleanor’s life at Radcliffe, including her new position as secretary of Phi Beta Kappa. In addition, they mention plans for Eleanor’s upcoming June wedding, including dresses and their wedding trip. In a March 19, 1914 letter her father reproves Eleanor for leaving wedding preparations to her mother. He also offers advice on how to handle Charles Franklin Brooks: "always give him his choice when it is unimportant and once in a while when it really makes a difference" (March 27, 1914).
