Susan FitzGerald papers, folder 1
-
Institution
Bryn Mawr College
-
Description
Folder 1 consists of letters to her family and includes her discussing her final exams and how busy she was with course work. One has the feeling that she writes as she talks, in an intimate, informal way. She writes about her deliberation and decision regarding studying abroad in Germany as well as her visits to the theater, tea with friends and ordering dresses. Her letters range from 4 -6 pages in which she gushes about the comings and goings of her life at Bryn Mawr College, including the freshman dance, her trips to New York, lack of money, and her dread of exams. In these letter from her sophomore year, she signs her letters affectionately as "Sue" or "Sukey". She has a particular interest in music and mentions several concerts and composers.
